Whisper of Sorrow...
There, in the silence by my bed...
I see you all, once here;
Now around my head,
Memories too loud to hear,
Faces of the dead;
You gather now in the darkness,
Opening my eyes of pain,
The loss that keeps me company;
The nourishing, the food to feed,
A flock of misery.
I did not mean it, truly not,
But slipped between my lips and fought;
For air until I could not hold,
And off it flew,
Too rich in truth to stay,
Within the prison of this day.
Indeed, it is to you,
my God,
I pray.
